I hadn’t met Dennis or Stephanie prior to this engagement shoot – they came to me via a referral from a previous bride, Andrea, and all communication had been through email or the odd phone call. Two things happened and I KNEW I’d love them both when we actually DID meet. In our first phone call, Dennis called me Miss Andrea (a Southern ‘politeness’ that I feel should be taken up by the whole of the US :-)) and then I asked him if he would send me a short bio on when, how and where they met, what drew them to each other and what were their likes/dislikes, etc., I am STILL laughing at all the information he gave me.
The information was SPOT on though, he had described both their personalities to a TEE!
We met in downtown Charlotte, NC and started our shoot at the AMAZING Historical Dunhill Hotel. I had called beforehand and spoke to the manager, Craig Spitzer asking if possible could we use the Penthouse Suite for an hour or so (the suite has two awesome balconies that you can view the whole city from) and he gave us permission ~ thank you kindly sir!
I LOVED how they were wearing matching colors and smiles!
Stephanie even wore a ring to compliment the colors AND flowers on the balcony!
Once we had finished at the hotel, we headed to the 4th Ward and to the local park. Even though it’s Winter, there was still a bit of color left in the landscape!
This was my last engagement shoot of 2010 and I am SO happy that this couple were the ones I was shooting. They were a ridiculous amount of fun, smiling, giving crazy, scary looks 😉 and at one point I almost got poor Stephanie killed while trying to cross a road 🙁 They still want me to shoot their wedding though so I guess I’m good! 🙂
Receiving a hug from clients as we leave each other on our first meeting warms my heart and lets me KNOW that when I shoot their wedding it is going to be fabulous! They have put their trust in me and I can’t wait to repay that trust.
Dennis, Stephanie – I can’t wait to see you again in May!
